Cowboy Orchard is the perfect place to dust off your boots and hang your hat for
a visit to Fredericksburg. Constructed like the historic Sunday Houses dotted
throughout town, this cottage makes a wonderful getaway. The large living room
is styled in a quintessential western fashion. Hiding beneath the cushy leather
sofa, a hide-a-bed makes a place for extra folks. A mock fireplace (it’s
not functional; it’s just for looks) creates a cozy atmosphere. Stained
glass lamps illuminate the living room with soft glow.
Opening off of the living room, the wonderful sun porch, which doubles as a
formal dining room is light-filled and airy. With views of the backyard, you’ll
feel like you are outside, but with all of the comforts of indoors. The galley
design kitchen is fully equipped for your cooking needs. The downstairs bath
offers a tub with shower.
The master bedroom is located downstairs. Above the wooden and iron queen sized
bed, a grapevine constructed deer mount gives you an animal-friendly version
of a hunter’s prize. Echoing the western décor, enjoy artwork throughout
the house by a local artist, G. Harvey. Also, take a look over of collection
Texas trinkets including an arrowhead assortment.
A slightly steep staircase leads upstairs to a seafarer’s themed bedroom.
A daybed with a floral designed comforter is cheerful and bright. A grouping
of sailboat and oceanic collectables offer seaside touches. The upstairs bathroom
has a tub (no shower).
