The Parisian inspired kitchen is a subtle taupe with pristine white trim. Fully equipped for your cooking needs, the kitchen offers
convenience accompanied by inventive style. Local finds, such as the harvest table and many architectural details add unique interest to the dining area. Like the collections of Hemmingway and his contemporaries in Paris, art plays an integral role at Forget Me Not. A wonderful collection of your hostess’s artwork, which includes watercolors, pastels, and drawings, finds a home here.
The British colonial retreat, reminiscent of an early 1900’s
safari, maintains a genteel air. Isak Denisen, author of Out of Africa,
wouldn’t have been more comfortable in Kenya than here. Energized by
Hemmingway’s safari adventures, the African bedroom is full of interesting
antiques and travel souvenirs. The majestic queen sized four poster bed is
dressed with custom linens. A fine collection of bisque birds nest in an antique armoire. Two overstuffed floral chairs comprise the sitting area. The adjoining bath is a rich, butter yellow with fresh white wainscoting. Draped with leopard inspired curtains, the antique claw footed tub (with shower) is stunning.
The front bedroom, Key West style, is all that is tropical. A perfect place to retire, refreshing lime sherbet walls beckon cool ocean breezes. The queen sized black iron bed is accessorized with an array of delightful linens. A collection of majolica and cottage ceramics fills the corner cupboard. The second bathroom, with shower, is fresh periwinkle and white. An antique stained glass window cleverly doubles as a mirror.
The mix and match cottage style comes alive in the third bedroom. The wicker daybed (with trundle) is in tip top country flair, overlaid with light, bright country florals.
