Located above the Fredericksburg Bakery, this B & B may be reserved by one
family or friends, occupying the entire upstairs OR, it can be rented as three
separate (and private) bedrooms with very spacious common areas to be shared by
all guests.
The living area (common area) consists of two large rooms with three groupings
of sofas and chairs. There are also two square tables and chairs and a round
oak table. Adjoining the dining room is a spacious kitchen where a selection
of pastries, breads, and jellies are presented each morning for guests (along
with coffees, teas and juice). To add to the wonderment -- there is a front
and back porch with outdoor furnishings. The front porch has a view of Fredericksburg's
Main Street and the back porch overlooks a courtyard.
Three separate (sleeping) suites are available. The front bedroom (Suite 1)
is the largest -- a king-size bed with a quilt topper is the focal point of
the room. An dresser, wardrobe and settee compliment the wood floors and two
double doors that open onto the front porch. A small bath with pedestal sink
and shower adjoins the bedroom.
The adjoining (middle) bedroom (Suite 2) has a pine queen sleigh bed with down
comfortor and Cornehl accessories along with an antique settee. An adjoining
bath has a tub/shower combination.
The back suite (Suite 3) has two bedrooms, each with queen-size bed. A comfy
overstuffed loveseat offers a place to relax. A large bath accompanies this
suite and offers a large soaking tub and long counter. Suite 3 can pick up the
sounds of the bakery workers early in the morning.
In all areas, the antiques are beautifully displayed with quilts on the walls
and groupings of prints and sophisticated country decorator items. The ceilings
throughout are 14 feet high and give a feeling of spaciousness -- and days past
that is a delight to the senses.
