Pumpkin Chunkin’ at Becker Vineyards – November 8

Those fun folks at Becker Vineyards are dusting off the trebuchet ( a medieval engine of war with a sling for hurling missiles – or pumpkins!) in celebration of fall. Live music by Doug Moreland & The Flying Armadillos. Concessions will be available along with wine tasting and pumpkin recipe cooking and sampling.

Noon – launching pumpkins every 30 minutes or so.

Becker Vineyards 14th Annual Lavendar Festival – April 30 – May 1

Experience the Provence-like setting of Becker Vineyards as you stroll the grounds during its 14th Annual Lavender Festival – now held on its new dates Saturday, April 30 and Sunday, May 1. Located off Hwy 290 just minutes east of Fredericksburg, you’ll be greeted at the winery to rows of vibrant, aromatic lavender that play contrast with the Earth’s red, sandy soil. The event is a celebration of all things lavender and features speakers and vendors promoting lavender education as well as herb-related products. “From Terroir to Table” Fundraiser at Becker Vineyards

Dr. Richard and Bunny Becker are hosting “From Terroir to Table” in the Lavender Haus at Becker Vineyards near Stonewall to benefit the Texas Center for Wine and Culinary Arts. The award-winning wines of Becker Vineyards will be paired with the flavorful cuisine of Jason Dady, Executive Chef and Owner of Bin 555 Restaurant and Wine Bar in San Antonio. The evening begins with an optional winery tour led by Dr. Becker at 6:30 pm. A reception follows at 7 pm with the four-course dinner at 7:30 pm. A live and silent auction will be part of the celebration of fine wine and fine cuisine. Attire for the evening is “business”. Tickets are $125 per person. Benefit for Scooter Pearce at Becker Vineyards August 13Local musician Scooter Pearce was involved in a near fatal car accident and needs assistance for medical expenses. Friends of Scooter Pearce are having a benefit for her at the Becker Vineyards Tasting Room Verandah on Saturday, August 13 from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. The admission fee of $20 (includes live music, hors d’oeuvres, and 3 wine samples) goes toward her medical expenses. Musicians Jon Hogan, Maria Moss, and Sol Patch will perform live. Scooter Pearce will also be present signing her musical CDs. There will also be a silent auction.
