Join Becker Vineyards for the 3rd Annual Bluebonnets, Bluegrass, and BBQ! Robert Becker, brother of Dr. Richard Becker, proprietor, will bring his Bluegrass band Woodstreet Bloodhounds back to the winery, Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7, 2013 from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. both days. There is no cover charge for the music. Barbeque concessions will be Smokin’ Willies Smoked Meats, of Dripping Springs, TX, and West End Pizza with BBQ Pizza, of Fredericksburg, TX. They will begin serving food from Noon until out.

An additional new event will be the Sunday Pig Roast-off beginning at 12 Noon until out. Teams will compete for Peoples’ Choice Awards. Wild Texas Hogs will sponsor the event. Boxing Day is British holiday celebrated the day after Christmas at Becker Vineyards on Highway 290 East of Fredericksburg Sunday December 26 from . Enjoy fireside readings, yuletide music, holiday hors d’ oeuvres and the holiday spirit. This event is complimentary.

Becker Vineyards’ Port & Stilton Cheese Tasting returns this Saturday, December 10 from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 11 from noon until 6:00 p.m. There will be live music by the River City Bells on Saturday and by Scooter Pearce on Sunday, beginning both days at 1:00 p.m. While at the tasting, sample caramel, with a shot of port, chased with chocolate. Or go the cheese route instead. The port sampling is complimentary and there’s no cover fee to hear the bands perform. Regular wine sampling fees, however, do apply. “Stomp Me, Crush Me, Make Me Wine!” is at battle cry at the Annual Becker Vineyards Grape Stomp! There will be barrels cut in half with grapes in them for visitors to stomp on! Some people also like to purchase souvenir T-shirts to “stomp” their prints on. The event is complimentary. There will also be music at 1 p.m. the four days of the Grape Stomp.

On Sunday, September 2 at 3 p.m. is the 9th Annual Lucy & The Italian Woman Costume Contest. Contestants are judged on stomping ability, costume, and enthusiasm! There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. There is no entry fee.

Celebrate all things lavender at Becker Vineyards’ Lavender Festival this Saturday, April 30 from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, May 1 from noon until 5:00 p.m. In its 15th year, this festival is held on the grounds of the winery location just off Hwy 290 E, just 11 miles from Fredericksburg. Chicago’s own Wood Street Bloodhounds will be performing live this weekend at Becker Vineyards’ Bluegrass, Bluebonnets and BBQ. The event runs from 1:00-4:00 p.m. both days – Saturday, March 17 and Sunday, March 18 – at the vineyards off Hwy 290 E. Tickets are $30 per person plus tax.
