Farmers Market

Fall Farmers Market

November 14th, 2011 by Jeff

The Fredericksburg Farmers Market and Pioneer Museum are partnering to extend the popular weekly event into the fall. Every Thursday, starting on October 6, shoppers can pick up fresh farm produce and prepared food in a historic setting. Hours are 4 to 6 p.m. Fall market will continue for seven weeks through November 17.

“We have heard a great deal of enthusiasm for continuing the market into fall,” said Cynthia England, organizer. “This partnership with the museum will link Fredericksburg’s agricultural history with our successful modern farmer’s market.”

The market will feature pasture-raised chicken, turkey, lamb and pork, along with eggs, cheese, and artisan bread. Shoppers can pick up locally-grown vegetables that are abundant during fall. Prepared foods will include gluten-free items.

Dinner and snacks will be served fresh by Navajo Grill and Sunset Grill. A chef showcase will offer free samples of market fare each week.

Shoppers can enjoy live music each week.

The Pioneer Museum is located at 325 West Main Street in Fredericksburg. There will be free admission to the museum and grounds during market hours.
