Willie Nelson May NOT be Going to Luckenbach, Texas

Willie NelsonA few weeks ago, during a radio interview, Willie Nelson said he was going to have another July 4th Picnic in Luckenbach, where it was held for four years, from 1996-1999. Unfortunately, Willie may have been too eager.

Austin 360 Blog has reported that Luckenbach has decided not to put on the picnic, saying it was too much of a financial risk for them.

Luckenbach events manager Abbey Road said Tuesday, “We’re hoping that we could maybe do something more scaled back with Willie on the Fourth, but I’m waiting to hear back from his manager.”

Luckenbach Christmas Ball with Gary P. Nunn – December 22

It will surely be a night to remember! Texas Star Trail Ride – March 4-12

The Texas Star Trail Ride kicks off on March 4, and will go through Fredericksburg, Luckenbach, Stonewall, Johnson City, Blanco, Fischer, Wimberley and Driftwood. Each year, about 300 people take part in the 112 mile ride, crossing 40 cattle guards through more than 20 hill country ranches, including the LBJ Ranch.  If you’re interested in riding along, call (830) 875-6121.

Celebrate Memorial Day weekend at Luckenbach, Texas. Luckenbach Mud Dauber Fest and Chili Cook Off – March 23

Luckenbach Texas loves to celebrate the annual return of mud dauber insects, enough to hold a festival in the pesky creatures’ honor – the Mud Dauber Fest – a day filled with live music, cold beverages and fun this Saturday, March 23 beginning at 1:00 p.m.

The Tolbert sanctioned Chili cook-off returns! This event is open to the public. Purchase a Tasting kit and help choose the best tasting Chili in the Universe! Tasting kits will be available for purchase the day of event for $10  Proceeds to benefit ALS. Cooks registration starts at 8 am. Only 150 spots!
