Luckenbach Texas loves to celebrate the annual return of mud dauber insects, enough to hold a festival in the pesky creatures’ honor – the Mud Dauber Fest – a day filled with live music, cold beverages and fun this Saturday, March 23 beginning at 1:00 p.m.
The Tolbert sanctioned Chili cook-off returns! This event is open to the public. Purchase a Tasting kit and help choose the best tasting Chili in the Universe! The Fredericksburg Community Orchestra is hosting “Bach at Luckenbach,” an evening of string music, food and fun at Luckenbach Texas, on Wednesday, July 25 from 5:00 p.m. until 9 p.m. The evening opens with local string students performing recital pieces. A spaghetti dinner begins at 6:00 p.m., followed by an hour of the Fredericksburg Community Orchestra performing selections from past concerts and wrapping up with another hour of The Dirty Rotten String Band. Between performances, a new guitar signed by artists who have performed at Luckenbach this summer will be auctioned. Ticket sales ended Friday, July 20. Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson forever put Luckenbach, Texas into the mind of the nation with their hit “Luckenbach,Texas.” Now Luckenbach is returning the favor to the late Waylon Jennings, from 1-5 pm. This event benefits the diabetes patients at the Good Samaritan Center. Waylon ultimately lost his life after a battle with the illness. Details coming soon to the website. The Texas Star Trail Ride kicks off on March 4, and will go through Fredericksburg, Luckenbach, Stonewall, Johnson City, Blanco, Fischer, Wimberley and Driftwood. Each year, about 300 people take part in the 112 mile ride, crossing 40 cattle guards through more than 20 hill country ranches, including the LBJ Ranch.
