Located on ten acres, this wonderful little rustic cabin is eight miles from Fredericksburg. The perfect place for a getaway from the stresses of everyday life.
Das Jager Haus is located down a short stretch of country road, allowing for optimum enjoyment of the peace and serenity of the Texas Hill Country. While guests roam the ranchland, they enjoy the frequent sight of deer and abundant squirrels. The front yard has an old fashioned wire fence and covered patio; perfect for an evening spent watching the stars and enjoying the quiet countryside.
Designed and built by award-winning builder Richard Laughlin, this cabin offers a cozy living area with a warm fireplace which features a locally salvaged mantle, one of the many architectural antiques incorporated throughout the home. The kitchen area offers a small refrigerator, microwave, electric skillet and coffeemaker.
The upstairs bedroom loft can be reached by outside stairs or by an old fashioned loft ladder inside. The queen-size bed is covered with high thread count sheets and topped with "memory foam" for a wonderful night's sleep. The bedroom, like the rest of the cabin, is furnished with an eclectic mixture of antiques, collectibles, and memorabilia. The highlight of the bedroom is the ceiling painted to resemble the sky. Look closely and you will even find a small airplane.
Relaxing at Das Jager Haus is not complete until you have enjoyed the large sun room with stone floors, log ceiling, and romantic whirlpool tub for two. Double french doors open onto a small, private deck tucked into the surrounding woods. Strung between the trees is a hammock for an afternoon nap.
Das Jager Haus, which is located just North of Fredericksburg and a mile shy of the highly acclaimed Hill Top Cafe, is also a great spot for those of you looking for a base for cycling and hiking throughout the Hill Country.
