The Lodge at Wild Sage, built in the late 1880’s is located four blocks from downtown. It sits on two acres of land and has all of the tranquil country charms. Adjacent to the Lodge is Wild Sage Barn built in the late 1860’s. The Lodge has a unique, architectural mixture of early Fredericksburg with a Southern flare. The original structure is a two-story Basse stucco and limestone rock house with high ceilings, heart of pine floors, and rock walls. With a Lone Star decorative design on top of the porch, a second story porch overlooks the surrounding area.
Prior to renovation, the house had no running water or restrooms. It was not until completion of renovation in 2004, that bathrooms were added, along with other modern conveniences. The downstairs includes the master suite with queen bed and an adjacent sitting room. The bathroom contains a Jacuzzi tub and a wrought iron sink. The foyer opens into a large dining room, and full kitchen with all of the utensils needed to prepare a meal. Large spacious living area features flagstone floors, French doors, and a large fireplace. This room is ideal for events, including social events, business meetings and family reunions. (Please see our groups page for restrictions. Additional charges may apply.) The room opens to the surrounding view and ambiance of the property. A powder room is also located in the living area to serve guests. The upper floor has three bedrooms, each has faux painted walls and unique queen beds. There is a central bath with a Jacuzzi tub, separate shower and two pedestal sinks. Upstairs balcony overlooks street.
