This home is truly an adult-size doll house. It's an original Sunday house, built in the late 1800s and is located two blocks from Main Street. It has always been known as the "little yellow house under the big oak tree." The downstairs consists of three rooms. The front porch leads you to the bedroom/sitting room decorated in pale dusty rose, delicate lace curtains and plate racks with "grandmother's Cabbage Rose" china that perfectly accents the two comfy wingback chairs. The bed is a four-poster queen-size bed; high off the floor with a fluffy down comforter and quilt.
The kitchen and bath are decorated in creamy yellow with matching handpainted tiles on the cabinets and in the shower. The many antique appointments are a constant delight to discover.
This home was featured in the June 1994, Country Living magazine. The Yellow House is pictured in Fredericksburg, Texas, Living with the Past and was on the tour of homes for Fredericksburg's 150th celebration. During 1999 the house was featured in the Dallas Morning News, Fort Worth Star Telegram, Houston Chronicle and the Corpus Christi Caller Times and mentioned in the Chicago Tribune and the Arkansas Democrat Gazette.
