Did you know that one blood donation can save up to three lives?
Patients count on volunteer blood donors, just like you, to take a few minutes of their time to make a life saving donation and contribute to the 600 units a day needed to meet the needs of hospital patients in South Texas.
Blood donors can now redeem points for the Wellness Rewards Program. Anyone who has donated blood since January of this year can call 800-292-5534 ext. 1375 to check how many points they’ve earned. When you have enough points, you can make an appointment to have a small vial of blood drawn at a donor room that’s closest to you. If you know someone who is in need of a diabetes, cholesterol or PSA screening, you can transfer points to them, as well. The South Texas Blood & Tissue Center (STBTC) has partnered with the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association and American Heart Association for our Wellness Rewards Program, allowing blood donors to donate their earned points to these organizations so other community members can benefit, too. For more information on Wellness Rewards, visit southtexasblood.org.
