The Fredericksburg Texas Jaycees are excited to announce the return of their annual Fredericksburg Crawfish Festival to Fredericksburg’s Marktplatz on Memorial Day weekend, May 23-25. The festival will include many activities for the entire family including a variety of great Cajun food, live music, crawfish races, children’s carnival, and a Creole brunch prepared by Chef John Russ of the renowned Lüke San Antonio.
Festival times are as follows: Friday 6pm to midnight, Saturday 11am-11pm, and Sunday 12pm to 6pm. Tickets for the festival will be $7 for adults on Friday and Sunday and $10 on Saturday. Kid tickets (ages 6-12) will be $5 a day. 2-day passes are available for purchase for $12 and 3 day passes are $20. The Creole Brunch will be held at Marktplatz on Sunday, May 25th from 10am to 12pm. Ticket prices for the Creole brunch are $55 per seat or $450 for a table of eight.
This year’s musical entertainment will feature Texas Country music artist Cory Morrow, T-Broussard and the Zydeco steppers, Jody Nix and the Texas Cowboys, Zydeco Blanco, Bayou Roux, and Johnny Dee and the Rocket 88’s.
Special guest this year will be the cast from CMT’s hit T.V. show “Gator 911.” Gary Saurage will be teaming up with his Gator Country crew to provide an educational and interactive show with some of his favorite gators.
Chef John Russ, executive chef at Lüke San Antonio, from the famed John Besh Restaurant Group, will be cooking a Creole Brunch on Sunday that is sure to be a delicious Cajun treat for any and all who attend.
The festival is organized by the Fredericksburg Jacyees, who since their founding, have grown to promote large fundraisers with all of the proceeds being used to help youth organizations, charitable groups, and those in need within the community.
