July 4th at the Sauer-Beckmann Living History Farm

July 4, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Join us as we celebrate Independence Day the old-fashioned way at the Sauer-Beckmann Living History Farm at the Lyndon B. Johnson State Park & Historic Site. Park interpreters attired in period clothing will share the history of the German farmstead. Visitors are encouraged to participate in washer pitching, sack/stickhorse races and corn husk doll making. There will also be demonstrations on making ice cream the old-fashioned way with hand-cranked freezers and barbecue making. Visitors should first stop at the LBJ State Park Visitor Center to get their free park permit, map and event information.

10 am to 3 pm. Free.
