Happy Trails Cabin | Fredericksburg Vacation Rental
Located just a short distance north of Fredericksburg this cozy two story cabin will give you a sense of privacy and a chance to enjoy the views of the Hill Country. This wonderful 1800s log cabin was imported from Bowling Green Kentucky. Hand-hewn logs and hardwood floors are accented with tasteful western décor. Your hostess is a big fan of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans so this is your turn to step back in time and enjoy these wonderful finds and keepsakes. Just to give you a taste of the many wonderful items you will find during your stay- enjoy Roy Rogers saddle in the living room, the collection of horns holding eclectic worn out cowboy hats hanging above the loft, curtains hung with horseshoes, and the list goes on. This will be one property that memories will be cherished.
Entering from the porch with it’s porch swing and two rockers, which by the way is a great place to relax with a drink and take in all of the views of the countryside. Your hosts also enjoy longhorns, horses, donkeys, cats and all of the wildlife that we cherish. Inside the living room boasts a fabulous limestone gas log fireplace, leather sofa and satellite television (32”). There is also a table and chairs, perfect for enjoying your meals, visiting or playing games. Behind the living room is a coffee bar with small refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven and coffeemaker. The bath has a whirlpool tub with shower. Upstairs is a loft bedroom with a king bed.

We enjoyed the quiet peaceful July 4th weekend. Great location to use as our base in order to visit nearby attractions without the traffic noise of an in-town accommodation. Originally, we planned to attend only the Fredricksburg Summer Music Festival @ Pecan Grove Store on Saturday. Will stay here again in the future. This was our third stay at Happy Trails and as always, Tom and Kay provide a welcoming stay in their Cabin. Thoughtful details such as being greeted with cookies and a handwritten note, plus breads, fruits, and juices in the fridge. The property is home to half a dozen Texas Longhorn cattle, almost as many donkeys, and numerous white tail deer. A perfect escape for a special weekend away.

We have stayed at the Happy Trails Cabin for about ten years in a row and have never been disappointed. The cabin its self is comfortable and well appointed. The continental breakfasts are fresh and tasty. Most of all we enjoy the quite, peaceful ambiance of the location. Watching the longhorns, horses and burros, the deer and humming birds is so very relaxing. Happy Trails is just a short drive into Fredericksburg and all the town has to offer. If you need to decompress and relax for a time Happy Trails Cabin foots the bill.

Happy Trails is located on a ranch, you are free to explore the grounds which is home to longhorns, horses and donkeys; the next door ranch is home to deer. Sitting quietly on the porch you may be lucky and receive a visit from humming birds which we did frequently. The cabin is quaint, clean and comfortable (home away from home). The bed is so comfortable, spare blankets are available if needed. Bathroom has all the expected amenities as if you were staying in a hotel. The attention to detail in relation the décor, and the Roy Rogers theme which runs throughout is fun and adds to the appeal. The proprietors are wonderful, not intrusive but drop by to welcome their guests and make sure everything is as expected. The fridge was stocked with milk, juice, soft drinks and breakfast which consisted of fresh fruit, homemade muffins and banana loaf. I struggle to put into words how wonderful Happy Trails is; we will most definitely be including a stay at Happy Trails during our future road trips and that is not normal for us as we don’t visit a place twice!!

We were lucky enough to spend last weekend at Happy Trails. Lucky because the weather was beautiful for the first time in weeks, and lucky because Happy Trails is a spectacular B&B. Absolutely beautiful property and cabin. Very clean and the owners are the sweetest people you will meet. Very quiet and really fun to see the deer, longhorns, donkeys and horses roaming around the property. The cabin is perfect for a couple to enjoy a nice peaceful vacation. Happy Trails is just ideal! What a treat to be out of the town of Fredericksburg, but close enough to be there in about 10 minutes. We didn't have contact with the owners, but we didn't lack for a thing. Wonderful breakfast treats were left in the refrig and cookies for a snack. The bed was so so comfortable.......loved, loved, loved the soft as a cloud "cowboy sheets". We will definitely return!

This cabin is in the perfect location....just a few miles outside of town so you can easily access all the sites, but far enough out that you feel relaxed. The inside of the cabin is adorable and very comfortable. The pictures truly do not do it justice! From the moment my wife and I walked in and saw cookies waiting for us, to the last day of our trip when we had to sadly say goodbye, this cabin was PERFECT. The bed is very comfortable and everything was meticulous and clean. The view from the front porch is lovely. We had a wonderful weekend and highly recommend Happy Trails cabin. We will recommend to friends and family and we will be back! Thank you for an amazing stay!

There are oodles of cute, quaint guest houses in the area, but Happy Trails stands above the rest. The decor would make Roy and Dale proud, but this is a COMFORTABLE cabin. From the front porch rockers and swing to the living room leather couch in front of a beautiful gas fireplace to the king size bed, we were able to relax comfortably while enjoying all the Roy Rogers and Dave Evans memorabilia these owners have collected. Another plus is the abundance of very hot water to fill the large hot tub. Not too far from main street, it was an easy drive to and from town. We have stayed in lots of Fredericksburg and Hill Country guest houses, but this is now our favorite. We will be back!
