Just a short drive out of Fredericksburg takes you to this wonderful property, which sits on 5 acres and is designed to enjoy breezes and privacy. Rooster Springs is a board and batten cabin with an early Texas character. Located 8 miles from town, Rooster Springs is the perfect getaway to enjoy the quiet countryside and rest and relaxation. “One day in the country is worth a month in the city.”
Enjoy watching nature and, when lucky, the deer playing in the field. Grill your dinner and enjoy the picnic area overlooking the bluff. A hot tub sits behind the host's home but is exclusively for guests to use during their stay. Inside the living room boasts wide plank pine floors and old-fashioned 6 over 6 wood windows accented with lace curtains. A limestone rock fireplace is the focal point of this quaint room. The fully-equipped kitchen with old red style cabinets is ready for cooking. Table is set for two. The focal point of the light and airy bedroom is the queen-size white iron bed topped with quilt. A large shower is in the en suite bath.

HOSTS - Cabin to yourselves but it does share a common wall with your host's home.

We wanted a quiet country getaway for our 25th anniversary and that's what we got. We had stayed at Rooster Springs ten years ago and this trip was just as nice. The cabin is full of eclectic art and artifacts about Roosters that are tasteful, beautiful, whimsical. The cabin is clean, the gardens beautiful and the porch is the perfect place to sit and watch birds come to the feeders that the host keeps full. Host house is next door but we felt completely alone. The little cabin was just what we wanted.

Very comfortable cabin for a couple. Great view from patio. Very quiet and private even with hosts living next door. We prepared all our meals over the three days in the compact but well equipped kitchen.

Cute place, lovely country setting. Well-stocked with necessities and good breakfast foods, a comfy bed. All was as advertised, except -- no wine was left for us, and the wifi was so weak, the bandwidth so inadequate, it had to be reset over and over to even show a signal. Even with a signal displayed after logging in, phones and laptop could not get any websites to come up. Essentially, there was NO WIFI. AT&T phone signal, too, was very weak--had to go outside the house to get a call to connect.
It was a great getaway, but, expecting an available internet signal to look up hours and make reservations, it was very disappointing and frustrating.

Rooster Springs is a very pleasant place to stay. We stayed for a week and it had everything we needed. It has a cozy little kitchen and a grill. The patio is wonderful to enjoy a meal or the sunset. The bed is so comfy. The owners are close, but we never saw them. Enjoyed the privacy and peacefulness at Rooster Springs. It is definitely a place will go back to.
