The Log Cabin | Fredericksburg Vacation Rental
This is the place to be for a truly quiet, peaceful, away-from-it-all stay. This reconstructed log cabin is set in the middle of acres of beautifully kept fields. It has some trees around it -- and the nearest home is that of the hosts. A porch at the front has a swing to enjoy as you look over the fishing pond. A back porch covers the short walk (about 10 feet) to the small log cabin which is the bathroom. There is a wonderful antique footed tub to provide a luxurious soak. (Heat & air, too!!)
The restoration on this log cabin is outstanding with the logs exposed on the interior and exterior walls. The main cabin is a large room with living area and mini kitchen uniquely designed to compliment the antique furnishings. The fireplace is the focal point of the room and can be seen from the loft. Truly a romantic setting! A ladder-type stairway leads to the sleeping loft that holds a double bed and single bed with quilt coverlets and a large old trunk.
The Continental breakfast including pastries from local bakeries is left in your kitchen for you to enjoy whenever you wish. Sitting at the round table with morning coffee and pastries and gazing into the fire or looking out the window at the pond is a relaxing way to start the day. The living room has a queen bed. There is also an antique sofa and TV.

SLEEPS - 5 persons- Double & twin beds in loft (ladder-type stairway) Queen bed downstairs
BATH - 1 bath with antique footed tub(it's a small log cabin about 10 steps from the main cabin with a porch covering)
KITCHEN - Cooktop, refrigerator, microwave for your use
BREAKFAST - Continental (pastries, fruit, coffee, teas, & juice left for you to enjoy at your leisure)
AMENITIES - Central heat & air, TV, fireplace with lots of wood, fishing in tank (bring your own pole - catch for one meal only- drought conditions may cause tank to be dry), microwave, cooktop & refrigerator

We have stayed here many times and always enjoy the cabin. The remote location wild life and farm life. The host is great very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be booking this place again next time in Fredericksburg.

It was perfect! Couldn't ask for a better place! Exactly, no more than what I had hope for to help create the perfect get away! When we first arrived the only sounds to be heard were ours with the ooh's and awwww's of sheer wonderment, delight, and fascination of our cabin and surroundings. And the hosts with their selection of fresh pasteries ... sheer heaven!
We are already planning a return trip.

Far exceeded our expectations. The pictures and descriptions were beautiful and it was even better in person! We arrived after dark and a light was on in the cabin, a beautiful fire was going in the fireplace and the pastries for the next day’s breakfast were on the table. The separate bathroom was just a few steps away and it was wonderfully warm and toasty (temps were in the low 30s during our stay). The bed was so comfy and the couch wonderful for relaxing and reading. The fridge was stocked with milks and juices and cereals, coffees and teas in the pantry. Fresh fruit on the counter. The pastries were delicious and fresh ones were delivered every day. It was a relaxing, comfortable, cozy place to say. The secluded cabin is great for nesting in, there is plenty of walking area around the pastures and yet it’s just a few quick minutes to town. We met the owner as he delivered the pastries. He was very nice and chatted as we asked questions about the area, farm, etc. Everything was meticulously clean and spotless. The views from inside the cabin ... deer, sunsets, sunrises, etc were stunning and clean windows were have made them picture worthy and it would have just been nice to see outside better. Overall, we loved it. It looked perfect when we were looking online, it didn’t disappoint.

Exactly as listed. Beautiful location. Peaceful and isolated, great place to get away and unwind. Close enough to Fredricksburg that it is easy to get to if you want to visit, eat and shop in town. But beware... the porch, view and atmosphere will grab you and keep you from wanting to do anything else but sit there and soak it in. Clean, well maintained and decorated. Did I mention the pastries....We would highly recommend this cabin to anyone. Just what we needed. Would rent again (and likely will)

I have been coming back to The Log Cabin for over twenty years and each time I come back I feel like I am home.
So serene. Quaint and quiet yet a short distance from Main St in Fredericksburg. Highly recommend!

Great pastries provided from the german bakery along with milk and juices each day. Kuerig and coffees provided and beautiful views to enjoy on the porch in the morning. So many birds to watch, deer and lots if cicadas to listen to. Beautiful serenity. Will stay again!

We loved this little cabin!! It was very rustic, but with all the creature comforts needed! My husband kept commenting on how comfy the bed was. I have to admit that I didn't notice a couple of things in the description: the bathroom is outside, but no worries! It's very nice and about 6 feet away with a covered concrete connection! I also didn't notice that there's only a tub, with no shower. But, with 4 girls and 1 guy we all figured it out. :-) The owners left us yummy pastries on the table every morning. There is nothing like sitting out on the back porch with tea (for me) or coffee (my husband) and watching the fawns frolic out in the pasture and the hummingbirds flit around. It was magical. It is very close to Fredericksburg (our limo for our wine tour even made it out to the cabin!). I would highly recommend this little cabin! We definitely plan to come again!

We live and work in Houston where life never stops. Work, deadlines, school, kids. We wanted to spend a few days isolated from the world. We spent time outside and not glued to technology. That technology was available, my wife had plenty of uninterupted wuiet time to catch up on school. Every morning felt like waking up in the 1800s and every evening we watched the sunset with guitars on our knees. A very special place we intend on making our tradition.
