The Third Annual Festival to Showcase More than 50 Independent Films from Around the World at Stagecoach Theater, on US Highway 87 South.

With a record of more than 200 films submitted for this year’s festival, the Hill Country Film Festival (HCFF), an independent film event held in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, Fredericksburg, Texas (April 26-29, 2012), announced today the lineup for its 2012 event.

The festival will feature more than 50 films including features, shorts, documentaries, and animations as well as 3-D shorts, a new category for the 2012 season. The complete lineup can be found on the festival website at http://www.hillcountryff.com/.

The festival will screen approximately seven features, 44 shorts, and 10 3-D films. Three of the feature length films derive from Texas and eight of the films come from filmmakers who have participated in past Hill Country Film Festivals.

“The significant number and variety of film submittals we received this year reflects the passion of independent filmmaking worldwide,” said Chad Mathews, founder, HCFF. “This year’s lineup includes films from all corners of the globe including Australia, Canada, Italy, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, and the United States. We will be screening all sorts of genres including comedies, romantic comedies, dramas, thrillers, science fiction, and dramedies.”

“With Fredericksburg as the backdrop, festival goers will have the opportunity to see great visual storytelling while filmmakers get a chance to present their commitment to the art of independent filmmaking,” continued Mathews. “The festival also helps these filmmakers identify an audience for their incredible work.”

All screenings presented on April 27-29, 2012, will be held at the Stagecoach Theater in Fredericksburg, an independently owned and operated theater. The venue offers crystal clear all digital projection, an immersive 3-D experience with state-of-the-art 3-D technology, and powerful uncompressed 7.1 surround sound. More information regarding the festival venue can be found at http://stagecoachtheater.com/.
