Our stay at Creek Street Cottage was very relaxing and refreshing. We were 1 block from HEB grocery store to grab snacks & breakfast goodies. Loved the screened in back porch, the comfy front porch, swing, and rocking chairs. Appreciate all the attention to detail that Gasthaus Schmidt extends to us. We have been hosted by them for many years.

We enjoyed the stay in the cute cottage. We have stayed here before and chose this location a second time for this trip. Everything was very nice, except that the lawn service came and mowed the lawn very early on Thursday morning. Since we were on vacation, we wanted to sleep a little later, but that was difficult with the mower and other lawn equipment being used in the yard. Perhaps the service could be done on days when no one is occupying the cottage or later in the day if someone is there.

The cottage is very cute and comfortable for a couple to relax and enjoy a slower pace. We loved that we could walk to Main Street shops and places to eat.

I have stayed here for many years and love the location and setting! The bed is very firm and comfortable; no 'dips'! The price is right, too. However, the rugs are 'trip and fall hazards'; why not re-carpet the whole place and discard the rugs? Also, the shower door rubber gasket prevents using a bath mat to step on when exiting the shower and the tile is very slippery when wet! So I have to carefully lean out and pull the bath mat over to safely exit the shower. The shower water goes from hot to cold and back when showering. Must be an issue with pressure valve or water heater. Moulding midway up on bathroom walls hasn't been dusted in years. Still, it is a great place but if I owned or managed it I would want to know about these issues! Thanks for asking!

Part of the pleasure of renting a vacation cottage is being able to enjoy staying somewhere you didn't have to clean yourself. As a paying guest, I expect and deserve to relax in pristine surroundings. This was not the case during a recent stay at Creek Street Cottage, though it is in an excellent location- convenient to Main Street and is attractively furnished including a fully-equipped kitchen, the obvious lack of thorough cleaning was unexpected. Some examples: (1)the shower door was coated with soap scum and the entry "sill" into the shower was encrusted with grime, (2)the large vent above the a/c control unit was filthy,(3)dust had settled onto the baseboards, the waist-high trim in the bathroom, and into the recessed details on the doors, and(4)the advertised porches were not as inviting as we had hoped; my wife and I were looking forward to relaxing on the screened-in porch. Unfortunately, we had to clean off the table and chairs including removing spiders and webs from beneath the chairs. Additionally, all of the wooden railings were coated in a thick layer of dirt. Despite the cottage's positive features, the fact that it had not been cleaned to guest-ready standards detracted greatly from our enjoyment of our stay. The cleanliness of this property is in huge contrast to all of the others that we have previously rented through Gastehaus Schmidt. This experience has made us leery of paying for dirty accommodations in the future.

We absolutely loved our stay at Creek Street Cottage! So cute and comfortable. They had thought of everything! Loved relaxing in front of the great fireplace. Thank you for the breakfast coupons as well! We will definitely stay here again! Vickie W

One of my favorite guest houses to rent. I'd give it a five if the shower didn't run out of hot water in two minutes flat and if there had been a few logs available for the fireplace. We love this cottage and will be back! Thank you for everything.

My wife and I have stayed at many B&B's in Fredericksburg and we have always been happy with the Creek Street Cottage. It is in a great location and very comfortable. We love the screened in porch to have out pastries that we get with the coupons for breakfast.
