High Meadow Cabin | Fredericksburg Vacation Rental

Location, location, location! Only six miles from Fredericksburg, three miles from Luckenbach and in close proximity to eight wineries, this is the perfect place to enjoy the Hill Country's “BEST”!!
The log portion of this structure is an old corncrib used in the 1800s. It was moved, in tact, to this place. The logs were "chinked" and local artisans carefully constructed the fireplace and chimney. In the "added-on" portion, old cabinets, doors and windows were salvaged from turn-of-the century buildings and used to create wonderful warmth and a feeling of pioneer days.
The log portion of the cabin is the living room with television and fireplace. The room is friendly and inviting and oh-so-beautifully decorated. The small kitchen comes next with its country charm with built-in practicality.
The bedroom is lovely and romantic with a king-size bed with custom made "elegant" linens and fresh curtains. The view from every window is a special treat. The bath has an old-footed tub to offer a luxurious soak to all that enter here. The owner who lives next door carefully and lovingly decorates the entire cabin.
There are two porches which are perfect for enjoying country life.

Great little place to stay. The only issue was the tv. It seemed to not connect and couldn't watch tv. Other than that, we would definitely stay here again.

We have stayed at HMC several times over the last 15 years. It's always clean and quiet. We especially love the fireplace. The pillow top king size mattress is awesome as well. We look forward to our next stay.

There was some confusion about wifi (turns out there isn't any) and coffee (nearly all decaf), and driving into town to pick up and drop off keys is a slight hassle, but otherwise, this was a wonderful stay, one of the finest I've experienced. I particularly appreciate details like vintage hooks, decorative paper towel holder, hidden microwave and fridge, gingham towels under bathroom mirror and kitchenette sink, logs and lighter for fireplace. It really feels like stepping back into frontier days.

We love this little cabin. This is our second year staying there for King Fest. Also my fiance proposed to me this time there on the front porch. Such memories. The only thing I would add is a small table in the bathroom, to put things on since it is only a pedestal sink. But overall we love it. The peace and quiet is awesome. Will stay there again.

High Meadow Cabin is a new favorite for us! The setting is just beautiful and peaceful. It\'s a short drive into Fredericksburg and right down the road from Luckenbach. The cabin is just the right size for 2 people and the bed is super comfy. We\'ll be back again for sure.

Thank you so much for another peaceful, picturesque weekend at Highmeadow Cabin! My husband and I have stayed there every year around this time for eight years. We first visited when we were newly-engaged, and we've celebrated everything from pregnancy to new parenthood (and now a break from parenthood!) at this spot. We consider it one of our most special places, and we're so grateful to have found it. We love to grounds, the cozy cabin environment, and the perfectly-curated space. The proximity to downtown is also perfect - close enough to make it in, while far enough to feel like a retreat. Thanks, as always, for another memorable weekend.

I am placing this place as 5, thinking this is the highest rating. Everything about this cabin was perfect. We couldn't ask for a more private and intimate place to stay. The cabin itself had everything we needed for a very peaceful and relaxing stay. We highly recommend it. Only one small draw back, the pad lock for the entrance gate got a little old after a little while. Other than that, it was very nice.

My husband and I have returned to High Meadow Cabin every year for five years. We always go around November / December, in anticipation of the holidays, and enjoy the beautiful fireplace and inviting atmosphere. The first time we visited, it was shortly after we got engaged. The second time, we were newlyweds. And this time, we were expecting our first baby! This spot has become a really special place for us, where we can always look forward to peace, reflection, and connection. Thank you for making it feel like a cozy home-away-from-home! We'll definitely be back! -Colleen & Tim (aka "Coco & Bonesaw")

Very beautiful and my fiancee and I love it. Very clean and the scenery was awesome. We sat on the front porch and watched deer all around us. Took some awesome pictures and loved the donkey and Pony. We will definitely be coming back real soon. They provide everything that we needed and we didn't want to leave. Thanks Taylor s

We enjoyed our brief stay as we often do when visiting Fredericksburg. It was VERY quiet and semi-secluded. Owners are right next to the cabin (not that problematic for us) but the 'fenced-in' parking was extremely tight to turn around in for our 2015 GMC pickup and the constant having to get out to unlock and relock the gate at the entrance was somewhat troublesome. The absence of a BBQ grill which is not mentioned on the website was disappointing. The cabin was clean and delightfully decorated and the bed comfortable. We really loved the log cabin part of the place. That is what catches our eyes on the website when looking for a place to stay. The owners did not bother us and we came and went at our leisure. Our favorite thing about the place was the braying donkey and friendly horse in the adjacent fields. We took a short video of the two and watch it often showing our friends and families. Overall we would be likely to visit again and recommend it to friends and family if others are not available.

We enjoyed our stay here and the bed slept awesome! We loved the rustic feel of the log cabin livingroom and the wood floors. The donkey brays every time you pull up and when he knows you are outside. The entrance is a little hard to find and the owner needs to trim back from the street sign to find it easier at night. Also, parking is a little tough if you are in a large vehicle, especially when the owner parks his Excursion. Otherwise, no complaints.

This sweet little cabin was just perfect for our weekend getaway celebrating our 17th anniversary. It is close to town, Luckenbach and all the wineries. We also loved the donkey and the pony. Sweet animals. The donkey loved “talking” to us every time he saw us. The property is beautiful. I loved All the wildflowers. It was a little tricky getting out of the driveway because there isn’t much room for turn around.
Best part....the bed!!! It is the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in. I have a pillow top and it’s comfortable, but it’s not as comfortable as this bed!! Slept like a baby!!! Also loved all the decor. Truly perfect. Thank you for sharing your little piece of Heaven on earth with us. ❤️

Place was nice, but the gate was a pain to open and close every time. Also I had to figure out the water heater to get it to work. Breaker was flipped on the WH and the timer was broken to be able to turn on.
