Golf Ball Drop to Benefit Local FFA – 10/14
Members of the FISD Fredericksburg Ag Science and FFA Booster Club invite the community to its first annual “Golf Ball Drop” fundraiser and fajita lunch on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at 1:00pm at the Gillespie County Fair Grounds.
The event is set up to be a fundraiser for the local FISD FFA Chapter. “This event has never been done before in Fredericksburg and we are hoping it will be a fun and easy way for community members to contribute to a great cause as well as have a little fun,” says Justin Armes, event coordinator. The booster club will be selling a total of 1,000 numbered golf balls for $10 each and 40 numbered golden golf balls for $100 each. At 2:00pm a helicopter donated by Zulu Helicopters will fly over the center of the race track and drop all the golf balls over a target. The first ($10) golf ball in (or closest) to the hole will win $2,000 cash, the second golf ball in (or closest) to the hole will win $1,000 cash and the third golf ball in (or closest) to the hole will win $500 cash. The first ($100) golden golf ball to go in (or closest) to the hole will $1,000 cash. You do not have to be present to win.
The fajita lunch (by donation) will be served beginning at 1:00pm. We invite individuals and families to come out for lunch at the biergarten even if you are not participating in the golf ball drop.
All proceeds raised from this event will directly benefit the FISD FFA Chapter by funding scholarships, project supplies as well as leadership training and travel expenses.
Golf balls can be purchased the day of the event at the Fair Grounds while supplies last or anytime before the event from members of the FFA Booster Club.
