St. Patrick’s Day Sock Hop Featuring Buddy Holly Tribute Artist – March 17
Johnny Rogers, renowned Buddy Holly tribute artist, is coming to Fredericksburg on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 2012. Rogers will be performing his “Buddy & Beyond” history of rock and roll show in the Hangar Hotel’s Pacific Showroom.
“Buddy & Beyond” is a tribute to the life and music of rock and roll legend Buddy Holly and will take you on a journey through the music that rocked a generation. The show celebrates Holly as well as legends like Ricky Nelson, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins and many more. Straight out of Branson from this number one show at Music City Center, Rogers’ first show in Fredericksburg is sure to be a crowd pleaser.
Attendees are encouraged to contribute to the 1950s “mood” and participate in a costume contest. Dig out your poodle skirt or leather jacket, slick back your hair or tie a ribbon around your neck because winners will receive prizes including a gift certificate to the Hangar Hotel and gift items from the Fredericksburg Brewing Company and Fredericksburg Herb Farm. Doors open at 7PM. Tickets are $25/ person and include lots of entertainment as well as party favors. A cash bar will be available. The Hangar Hotel, located adjacent to the Gillespie County Airport, was designed to mimic the look of a WWII airplane hangar.
